Frequency multipliers are typically used in frequency synthesizers and electrical circuits. It generates an output which magnifies the input frequency. They are made up of nonlinear circuit that distort the input signal, while the bandpass filter removes unwanted frequency before output.
Frequency Dividers
A frequency divider is also called a ‘clock divider’, ‘scaler’ or ‘pre-scaler’, which takes and input signal of a frequency circuit and generates a new output of frequency.
Types of Frequency Dividers
Regenerative frequency divider
A regenerative frequency dividermixes the input signal with the feedback signal from the mixer.
Injection-locked frequency divider
These frequency dividers were applied in the development of the television. In an injection locked frequency divider, the frequency of the input signal is a multiple (or fraction) of the free-running frequency of the oscillator.Care must be taken to ensure the tuning range of the driving circuit (for example, a voltage-controlled oscillator) must fall within the input locking range of the ILFD.
Mixed signal frequency divider
A mixed signal frequency divider can be configured to perform complex frequency division.
ATI Systems has a range of programmable multipliers, as well as frequency dividers. These include:
- The IT210 Level Converter, Directional Decoder and programmable Pulse Divider: it has multiple functionalities including level conversion, division of two-track A/B pulses, external HTL signals, and more
- The FM260 Programmable Pulse and Frequency Multiplier: boating functionalities which include pulse multiplication with smart directional rotation, programmable markers to measure pulse distance, etc.
- The FM210 Frequency Multiplier and Frequency Divider: this frequency divider can be configured without cumulative residual errors, with outputs that can be precisely readjusted. It is ideally suited for drive and camera system synchronisation.
Each of our products come with a downloadable specifications sheet, as well as instructions, safety instructions and more.
