In metal strip production, treatment and processing, the material used is supplied in the form of coils. These coils are unwound and fed into the production process. The problem is that metal strips tend to run unevenly on the deflector rolls in the production line due to it’ geometric shape.

This is where strip guiding systems come into play. Strip guiding systems keep the metal strips in place. This allows the strip to run evenly throughout the production process and in turn prevents any damage from occurring to the product or the product plant.

Radar-based sensors have no sensor parts in the furnace. They additionally inflict no damage to the strip or the sensor. Their accuracy is equal to or better than that offered by inductive furnace guiding. They are also contact-free. This product is perfect for extreme environments.

Optical Sensors

Optical sensors are contact free and extremely reliable. They are independent of the pass line and are protected against ambient light due to HF technology. They have a very large sensor gap with a high degree of accuracy. This product is used for non-contact strip edge and strip centre measuring.
